  • 1.5 oz Irish whiskey
  • 3/4 oz lemon juice
  • 1/2 oz chiot montamaro
  • 1/2 oz apricot liqueur
  • 1/2 oz honey syrup*
  • 2 dashes cherry bitters
  • 2 dashes Orinoco bitters
  • 2 dashes hummingbird bitters

*Honey syrup: I prefer a 1:1 honey syrup. Simply mix equal parts (by weight in grams) honey and warm water, then shake or whisk to combine. Store in an airtight container in the fridge.

Add all ingredients to a shaker tin with ice and shake vigorously for ten seconds or until the shaker tin is cold to the touch. Double strain into an oversized coupe and garnish with something fun (apple goose tedious and optional, I found an Instructable).

Try this the next time you see or hear something incredibly funny that you just can’t get out of your head: instead of trying to explain the joke or the bit to someone else — or (infinitely worse) attempting to make them watch it in an inconvenient moment while you desperately observe — just make a drink about it. And then, when they ask about the name, say “oh, it’s a funny bit from Dropout, I’ll send you the video.”
